Click to View Article Oct, 1999 Cabaret 1980-1999 Ten weeks following a surgery that was intended to prolong and sustain the quality of life for the 19-year old Holsteiner stallion, Hilltop Farm lost their founding sire Cabaret on October 28, 1999. An arthrocentesis was performed on the right front fetlock of the stallion in order to" fuse" the fetlock and create relief for a failing suspensory apparatus. Lara & Mitch Mitchelson’s Faberge Blue (Contango-Democraat) was 1st & 2nd in his Third Level tests this weekend with scores of 66.6% & 68.3%. Faberge was bred by Lazy J Sporthorses in Maryland. With Witness Hilltop (Hamlet-Burggraaf) Michael earned another 1st & 2nd place, this time in the Grand Prix Special with scores of 67% & 68%. Witness was bred in Holland by Rene Franssen. Stallion News Hilltop Archives Aug, 2010 Intermediaire I National Championships Hilltop Farm's Christopher Hickey and Cabana Boy (Contucci-Bordeaux) attended the 2010 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions on August 6-8 at the historic USET headquarters in Gladstone, NJ. At only 8 years old, this was already Cabana Boy's 2nd trip to the Championships. Hilltop News Qredit Wins Intermediaire I Debut Return to All Hilltop News >>> The Florida show season is in full swing and Michael took Sternlicht and Qredit out again this past weekend.  Sternlicht has his second weekend at Third Level and earned scores of 69% & 71%.  While he was a little distracted on Saturday, we’re still very happy with the willingness he has for the more difficult work.  A crowd seems to follow him wherever he goes and he loves the attention.  Qredit had his Intermediaire I debut on Saturday and handily won with a 71.7% from his forward, flowing test.  Sunday’s Developing Prix St. Georges also scored above 71% – a consistent performance throughout the weekend.  One more show for these two at the very end of the month and then back home to Hilltop for the start of breeding season. On November 13, 2002, the famous jumping stallion VIP passed away while enjoying a beautiful sunny day in his paddock. Hilltop News Grand Prix Stallion Pikko del Cerro to stand at Hilltop Farm Return to All Hilltop News >>> We are excited to share the news that Horses Unlimited’s International Grand Prix stallion Pikko del Cerro will be standing at Hilltop Farm this year.  Cerro has had a wonderful show career from winning at Devon in-hand, through earning three National Championships in the Young/Developing Horse Program, and most graduating to the CDI’s with scores well into the 70’s at Grand Prix.  As his rider Lisa Wilcox said so well, “Cerro is the whole package! He has good looks of course, and his walk, trot and canter. The future of United States Dressage depends on this quality of horse! Cerro is going to make lots of breeders and mares happy!”  Pikko del Cerro’s webpage has just been uploaded, but additional information, photos, and videos will be added in the coming days.  The stallion will move to Hilltop Farm in early March and finally be available for breeders! Owned by Dawn Bernardo, Rubinero comes originally from Gestut Vorwerk’s esteemed breeding program. Rubinero has a long FEI career to his record, including winning the USDF Region 3 Intermediaire I Championships with his amateur owner.  From his early breedings in Germany, Rubinero has already produced a licensed son, States Premium daughters, and Premium Foals.  With his move in March to Hilltop Farm, this handsome stallion will once again be available to breeders.  Rubinero’s webpage has just been uploaded, but additional information, photos, and videos will be added in the coming days.
