Global Dressage Festival 3

Hilltop News Global Dressage Festival 3 Return to All Hilltop News >>> Thursday was a washout at Global, but thankfully the rings dried quickly and on Friday morning the dressage show was able to proceed as planned.  Michael showed Witness Hilltop to a win in Friday’s Open Grand Prix and a 4th place finish in Saturday’s class.  With less than a year together, we’re very pleased with how this partnership continues to develop.  Lara & Mitch Mitchelson’s coming 6-year old Faberge Blue also had his Third Level debut.  Faberge put in his trademark consistently steady test to win Friday’s Third Level Test 1 and place 4rd in Saturday’s class.  We’re off to a great start for the year. The Show Season Begins

Hilltop News The Show Season Begins Return to All Hilltop News >>> The Gold Coast Opener in Wellington, Florida was held January 21-24 and marks Michael first show of the year.  Qredit was 6th in the Prix St. Georges Open and won Sunday’s Developing Horse Prix St. Georges with two soft, flowing tests.  This weekend served as a good warm-up for Qredit’s upcoming move to the Intermediaire I and Michael’s happy with his confidence and strength at this level.  Sternlicht took a big jump up to debut at Third Level for the year.  He placed third on Saturday and won Sunday’s Third Level Test 1 with a 71.9%.  Sternlicht stayed very relaxed in the work despite the new demands of the Third Level tests and we couldn’t be happier than this start for him.  Two more shows still to come before the boys head north to begin their cooled semen season in March. Riverman USEF Leading Eventing Sire

Hilltop News Riverman USEF Leading Eventing Sire Return to All Hilltop News >>> With each step in their careers, the Riverman offspring continue to impress us with the versatile athleticism that has allowed them to succeed at the highest levels of most every discipline.   Over the years we’ve seen Riverman ranked near the top the USEF Leading Sire rankings in multiple disciplines and in 2015 his offspring once again earned him the honor of USEF Leading Eventing Sire.  The results of a few offspring were particular highlights.  Owned by Judith McSwain and bred by Charlotte Wrather, Fleecework’s Royal (ds. Corofino) handily won the Preliminary Championship at the USEA American Eventing Championships.  Fleecework’s Royal is a previous winner of the 5-Year Old Young Event Horse West Coast Championships.  Rachel Wilk’s River King (ds. Speed Play xx) competed at the Intermediate and Advanced Levels, picking up 5 top ten finishes.  River King was bred by Cheryl Byrd. Kaitlin Whitefield’s Rivoletto (ds. Flying Nashua xx) was a consistent mount at the Preliminary level, taking home the Preliminary Level win at The Event at Rebecca Farms.  Hilltop Farm would like to thank all of the breeders who have confidently chosen Riverman for their breeding plans over the years. Your breeding and competition efforts are truly appreciated and this recognition for Riverman could not have been possible without your efforts!
