Ducatti (Doctor Wendell-Wolkentanz)

Doctor Wendell News Ducatti (Doctor Wendell-Wolkentanz) View All Doctor Wendell News >>> Congratulations to breeder Jenny Trainor of Montana on the success of her Doctor Wendell colt at the Salt Lake ISR/Oldenburg inspection! An unfortunately timed growth spurt left Ducatti (Doctor Wendell x Whippoorwill/Wolkentanz) a little but high at the inspection which didn’t allow him to show his best gates.   The handsome colt received an overall score of 7.9, just missing premium status.  Jenny’s biggest complement for the colt is his kind and intelligent temperament.  She’s say “he walked into the ring like he was meant to be a show horse.” He has a bright future ahead of him as someone’s show horse! Well done Ducatti! 2017 USEF Young/Developing Horse Championships

Hilltop News 2017 USEF Young/Developing Horse Championships Return to All Hilltop News >>> The USEF Young and Developing Horse Championships remain a highlight of our show plans every year.  With only the top 15 of each age group invited to the Finals, the competition is intense yet the sense of comradery and enthusiasm is one of the best of all the shows.  It’s especially educational to see many of the horses back year-after-year and watch their development up the levels.  This year, Michael qualified an impressive SIX horses for the Finals!  The two 4-year olds started the week off well.  Carol McPhee’s SenSation HW (Sunday-Dancier) has only been with Michael since the beginning of June, but is advancing well in the work.  He offered two harmonious, flowing tests which earned a 5th place in the Preliminary and a 6th place overall with a final score of 7.472.  Marydell Farm’s Debonair MF (Doctor Wendell MF-Rotspon) showed a lot of composure for a young stallion.  While the connection could be a bit steadier, he remains supple and swinging in his work and the walk is a real highlight.  He placed 5th in the Preliminary test and moved up to 5th in the overall standings with a score of 7.692.  This placing will also fulfill his sport requirements for ISR/OldenburgNA.  Competing on the same days as the 4-year olds, was the Developing Prix St. Georges division for horses ages 7 to 9 years old.  Michael’s two 7-year olds have had great seasons so far and produced two solid tests each.  Sternlicht Hilltop (Soliman de Hus-Rascalino), bred by Rachel Ehrlich and owned by...

Hilltop News 2017 AHS/ARS Inspection Return to All Hilltop News >>> We had a fantastic inspection this past week with an overwhelming super quality in the foals. The event started however with two stallions being accepted for AHS/ARS. The 4-year old Debonair MF (Doctor Wendell MF-Sandro Hit) owned/bred by Marydell Farm and the 15-year old Lord Luciano (Enrico Caruso-Unkenruf) owned/bred by Debra Tyler both impressed the stallion committee and are exciting additions for US breeders!  Comments for Debonair MF included ‘very good impression with stallion presence, we like his rideability, the walk is a highlight as is the canter – very impressive and already showing a talent to collect.’  Comments for Lord Luciano included ‘we like to use Trakehner in our breeding, this stallion had a very successful sport career to Grand Prix in Germany, his gaits and attitude are very good, gave a very good impression as he started to move.’ Eight Hanoverian mares were accepted into the Main Studbook for AHS & ARS with Viva’s Diamond W (Viva Voltaire-Futurist) being the High-Score Hanoverian Mare & the Mare Performance Test Champion.
