Don Principe News Fig Street’s Duchess (Don Principe – Contender) View All Don Principe News >>> Don Principe daughter Fig Street’s Duchess (Don Principe x Comtessa/Contender), owned by Cynthia Hallman, had an exceptionally good 2017 show season. “Gracie” showed in the Green Hunters, Amateur Owner Hunters, and International Hunter Derbies throughout the season, earning many division championships.  A great testament to the adaptability and rideability that Don Principe produces, Gracie showed successfully with both her amateur owner and professional riders.  A few highlights of her season included a 4th place finish in the International Hunter Derby Finals Challenge at the USHJA Hunter Derby Finals.  Her results throughout the year also earned her the AHS Year-End Awards Champion for 3’9” Green Hunters and Adult Amateur Hunter 50+.  Congratulations Cynthia and Gracie! Hilltop News Culpepper Dressage Show Return to All Hilltop News >>> The US Equestrian Leading Sire Rankings closed in mid-December and we have many exciting results to share! For the second time Marydell Farm’s Don Principe was named the Dressage Breeding Sire of the Year and for the fourth time Riverman was named Eventing Sire of the Year! Haras de Brullemail’s stallion Quite Easy is 9th for both the Jumper & Eventing Sire lists and ranks 11th on the Hunter Sire standings. Sternlicht was 2nd, Qredit 5th, and Horses Unlimited’s Pikko del Cerro was 6th for the Dressage Breeding Sire awards behind Don Principe. On the Dressage Sire List, Negro is 7th, Contucci 8th, and Olivi 10th. Royal Prince, Lord Leatherdale, Bugatti, Painted Black, and Don Principe are all in the Top 25 standings as well. The US Equestrian Sire Rankings are based on points accumulated by offspring that are recorded with the USEF and whose owners are members of USEF.  While it doesn’t account for all horses showing, it does give us the best data available on parentage verified horses that are actively competing and can be one helpful tool for all breeders evaluating offspring results. Don Principe colt, Dare to Dream OBX (Don Principe – Contucci), earned many compliments from the judges and was selected to return as one of the top colts of the inspection but it was the Doctor Wendell son Diplomat OBX (Doctor Wendell – Rotspon) that stole the show for the day.  The flashy Doctor Wendell colt, owned by Darlene Bowes, was ultimately selected as the Top Colt of the inspection.  Diplomat is a full sibling to the recently licensed Doctor Wendell son Debonair MF.  Congratulations to all!
