Stallion News Hilltop Archives Nov, 2011 Hilltop’s 20th Anniversary Celebration It’s hard to believe that it really has been 20 years already. When Jane MacElree first purchased the stallions Cabaret and Nureyev, she had no idea of what would evolve in the coming years, but what a journey it has been! On October 29th Jane, the Hilltop staff, and many of our friends, family, and clients celebrated our 20th Anniversary with a wonderful party at the farm. The First Foals Arrive

Hilltop News The First Foals Arrive Return to All Hilltop News >>> Hilltop’s 2016 foaling season is off to a wonderful start.  It’s coming to the end of April now and the first five foals are safely on the ground.  Double H Farm’s jumper mare Ultra (Willem van de Helle) produced her first foal in March – a strong, well-built colt by Copin van de Broy.  Shorlt after Arlette Johnson’s hunter mare Olivia K (Popeye K) also had her first foal – a very typey and personable colt by Talisman.  Both mares have proven exceptional mothers and seem to be taking an interesting approach of sharing babysitting duties of the two colts.  After a nice break from foalwatch, we welcomed three Hilltop Farm-owned offspring in April.  EM Raj Mahal HTF (Royal Prince) has produced a very elegant, feminine filly by Sternlicht.  After weeks of debate, the name Savannah HTF has been chosen for her.  Next up was Chiquita (Contucci) with her second colt – a strong, uphill and very easygoing foal by Bugatti.  We’re still figuring out a name for this wonderful colt, so feel free to help us with suggestions! Finally, our Grand Prix mare Uforia (Negro) gave us her first filly.  She is a full-sister to Stetson who was last year’s Reserve Champion at his AHS Inspection.  Sternlicht added his long legs to this filly, but we see a lot of her wonderful dam in her as well.  She’ll be called Shiraz HTF. ISR/Oldenburg NA Inspection at Hilltop

Hilltop News ISR/Oldenburg NA Inspection at Hilltop Return to All Hilltop News >>> Hilltop Farm hosted its annual ISR/Oldenburg inspection on August 16th.  The judging panel of Ekkehard Brysch, Dieter Felgendreher, and Gary Lawrence had a packed day of horses to evaluate.  Four stallions were presented for licensing and three were approved.  The approved stallions were Lea Ann Hansen’s Velluto (Schiffon-Urspring), Kindle Hill Farm’s GK Calucci (Calido I-Accord II), and Trestle Tree Farm’s Beaulieu’s Talisman (Toulon-Alexis Z). Four horses took part in the performance test which evaluates potential both in free jumping and under saddle.  Rag Doll, owned by Lauren Kimmel and bred by Angelique Le Vell, was the High-Score Winner of the Performance Test with an impressive 78 points overall including an 8.5 for jumping ability and an 8.0 for rideability.  Rag Doll (Regazzoni-Matissa) was also accepted into the Main Mare Book with a score of 97 points.  Christina Warfel’s pony mare Wrefleksion (Wicked Courtjester-Nieuwmoeds Patrick) passed the Mare Performance Test with an overall score of 70 points and was accepted into the Pony Mare Book with a score of 98 points.  Summit Sporthorses’ Piper (Popeye-Fascination) and Popgun (Popeye-Oliver Twist) earned scores of 7 on rideability and will add this performance test to their sport record.   This is a good reminder that the Performance Test is open to both Mares and Geldings and can give owners of geldings a wonderful goal to work towards in early training  while also helping refine the breeder’s evaluation of their own program. Nine additional mares were presented for breeding evaluation.  Due to pedigree, two were accepted into the Pre-Mare Book – Dancin...

RPSI Stallion Approvals

Hilltop News RPSI Stallion Approvals Return to All Hilltop News >>> Five new stallions are now approved RPSI! We were pleased to welcome the Rheinland Phalz-Saar International registry to Hilltop Farm on August 6th.  We’ve had stallions nominated with RPSI previously and have been looking forward to presenting some additional stallions to them.  The timing on tour worked out well this year and we’re grateful they could stop by Hilltop as they proceeded to a regular inspection site. We presented five stallions for their consideration and are thrilled to announce that all five were accepted. Newly approved stallions include Sternlicht GGF (Soliman de Hus-Rascalino), Royal Prince (Rohdiamant-Prince Thatch xx), Qredit (Quaterback-Dream of Glory), GK Calucci (Calido I-Accord II) owned by Saly Glassman, and Talisman (Toulon-Alexis Z) owned by Arlette Johnson. We are particularly happy that Calucci and Talisman will now be standing here at Hilltop Farm via cooled semen.
