Hilltop Foaling Season Comes to a Close

Hilltop News Hilltop Foaling Season Comes to a Close Return to All Hilltop News >>> Foaling season is continuing along at a rapid pace here at Hilltop and we thought it was past time for some updates.  Congratulations to Melissa Stubenberg on the arrival of Corusca, a strong, well-built filly by Calucci and out of the Thoroughbred mare Korageous Kelly.  Rue has a beautiful neck, good bone, and is very athletic.  The first pony foal to be born at Hilltop has finally arrived!  Arlette Johnson’s Welsh-Thoroughbred mare Lily was bred last year to the jumper pony Woodbury’s Harlequin and the colt, Harley’s Davidson, is a wonderful combination of his parents. With a beautiful head and an impish expression, we are all totally smitten.  Next we were excited to see what Catherine Haddad’s fabulous mare Raureif would produce this year and we weren’t disappointed.  Bred to Vitalis, she’s given Catherine a leggy, uphill bay filly with a nice bit of chrome.  Just last night, Melissa’s second mare Whizzo (White Magic-Lemon) gave birth to a very tall bay colt by Persiflage.  Whizzo’s foals tend to be very good movers and we’re excited for this boy to get outside in the coming days.  Only a few more mares to foal out here at the farm this season. Late Season Additions

Hilltop News Late Season Additions Return to All Hilltop News >>> We’re pleased to announce the addition of two new late season additions to the Hilltop Farm Stallion Roster: Ulmar Mail (Berlin-Narcos II) and Woodbury’s Harlequin (Ferguson Uno Dutch – Moleview Mohawk). The captivating grey stallion Ulmar Mail, owned and bred by Haras De Brullemail, has been exceptionally successful in the young jumper championships in France. Always a consistent competitor with a careful jumping style, Ulmar Mail was double clear 14 times in 14 starts in his first year of competition.  Ulmar Mail will be available to breeders via frozen semen with our standard 2-Year Live Foal Guarantee contract. Also joining the line-up is the sport pony stallion Woodbury’s Harlequin, owned and bred by PJ Lillington. A “pint sized” addition to the line-up at 12.2 hands, Harlequin should be of particular interest to pony breeders and breeders looking to downsize a larger mare.  Based in Scotland, Harlequin was successful as a young horse in-hand and his success has carried over to the pony jumpers with multiple Small Pony Jumper Championships.  Harlequin’s limited inventory of semen will be available on the per dose basis for $400/dose and we already have our first mare confirmed in-foal. We’re pleased to offer these new stallions to North American breeders. As a special late season welcome to the line-up, Hilltop Farm is offering a 10% discount to both stallions on all contracts booked prior to August 15th.  To receive your contract, please email Brittany.
