We love catching up with breeders about all their offspring, including those by stallions that may not still be in our line-up. Here are some recent updates from breeders around the US on their offspring bred through Hilltop Farm. Jaquetta LJS (Laroche – Tomorrows Cat xx) by Laroche received First Premium in the Jumper division at recent the KWPN keuring held at Iron Spring Farm for owner/breeder Marie Emrey of Lazy J Sporthorses. Calla (Cabaret-Consul) and rider Lisa Schreiber had an excellent 2014 show season. The pair won multiple year-end awards with the Islip Horseman’s Association (IHA), including: High Score Adult, Intro Year End Champion, and Mirror Image Memorial Award. Congratulations to breeder April Hays on the inspection results of her Hemmingway colt, How Ya Like Me Now (Hemmingway – Quiet Enjoyment xx) out of the Thoroughbred mare Raise Your Hand. How Ya Like Me Now received Premium status and was High Score Foal of the inspection. His trot was a highlight, earning a score of 8.2.
History in the Making
Hilltop Farm is thrilled that three of our stallions have been named USEF Leading Sires of the Year for 2009. Contucci (Caprimond-Lungau)is the Dressage Sire of the Year; Riverman (Redfort-Landego) is the Eventing Sire of the Year; and for the second year in a row, Royal Prince (Rohdiamant-Prince Thatch xx) is the Dressage Breeding Sire of the Year (and Bugatti was ranked second in this category).
It’s hard to believe that it really has been 20 years already. When Jane MacElree first purchased the stallions Cabaret and Nureyev, she had no idea of what would evolve in the coming years, but what a journey it has been! On October 29th Jane, the Hilltop staff, and many of our friends, family, and clients celebrated our 20th Anniversary with a wonderful party at the farm.
