Popeye Foal Announcements: 06-06-17: It’s a girl! A dainty Popeye filly arrived on May 17th to Patti Herson of Albuquerque, NM and her TB mare Pet’s Viva. Patti says that her new arrival will be named Luna and that she is amazingly brave, curious and so outgoing. Congratulations Patti, she’s lovely! >>>

Popeye Offspring Earn USDF Awards in 2015: For breeder Angela Mirarchi the combination of Popeye and Welsch Cob mare Clanfair Mary Kay (Lonetree’s Romeo) has been very successful; resulting in one licensed stallion, premium foals, and numerous year-end awards. The 2015 season certainly further validated the success of this cross with Phenix and Peppermynt Pati earning top standings in the ISR/Oldenburg All-Breeds Awards rankings. >>>

Pacifico (Popeye x Zoey): Congratulations to Shelley Evans on the success of her homebred Popeye gelding Pacifico (Popeye x Zoey) at his first show. “Paco” showed at the Brookside Equestrian Park in Elk Grove, CA. Paco earned a 2nd place finish in the 2-Year Old Hunter Breeding. >>>

Pure Havoc (Popeye- Cheops Z): Congratulations to Shari Coward on Pure Havoc’s (Popeye x Eclipse/ Cheops Z) successful first horse show! “Havoc” and Shari had a great first outing, earning the title of Training Level Open Champion of the show. Good boy Havoc! >>>

Princi (Popeye-Lonetree’s Romeo): We were very excited to hear how pleased Angela Mirarchi was with her Popeye mare after the VADA/NOVA Dressage & Breed Show. Five year old, Popeye mare Princi (Popeye-Lonetree’s Romeo) showed undersaddle for the first time. >>>

Popeye Offspring Earn USDF Horse of the Year Titles: The yearling gelding, Popportunity SFF (Popeye-Native Regent) proved to be very competitive against his “horse sized” competition this season. Owned and bred by Barbara Nelson, Popportunity commandingly won the USDF Yearling Colt or Gelding Horse of the Year title with over a four point margin. >>>

Seneca Valley Pony Club Horse Trial: It was a great day for both Popeye and his offspring at the Seneca Valley Pony Club Horse Trials. Popeye won the Beginner Novice division on his dressage score of 29. >>>

Dressage at Lexington Breed Show: The Lexington Breed Show was a fun outing for Team Hilltop. Our handler, Quinnten Alston, took two youngsters from the farm down for the show. Both Relevè HTF (Royal Prince-Cordoba) and Quinzy HTF (Qredit-Cordoba) placed 2nd in their respective age divisions. Quinzy was 3rd in the Filly Championship and Relevè was 5th in the AHS IBC. >>>
