2006 Westfalen Pony Mare

Riders and breeders will want to take a close look at this lovely, imported Westfalen pony mare. Die Chanel offers excellent bloodlines, three correct gaits, and a beautiful type. Chanel is now well started under saddle and is working confidently at all three gaits and hacking out. She is still green and needs a rider experienced with young horses, but she is willing and happy in work and ready to continue to build on her basics and begin showing later this year.
Sire Der Feine Lord completed his Performance Testing with a very high score of 8.82 and was the Vice Bundeschampion. He has been a member of the 2008 and 2009 German “A” Pony Team and his scores at the 2009 European Pony Championships helped the German Team win the Gold Medal.
Die Chanel’s dam is a States Premium Mare by the stallion Chantre B. This stallion was the Champion of his keuring and won his Performance Test with an overall score of 8.9. He is the sire of Bundeschampions Charm of Nibelungen, Choco que Linda, and HB Dream Girl.
On August 29th, Chanel was presented to the ISR/OldenburgNA and is approved in the Main Mare Pony book. Her scores included an 8 for her head and numerous 7’s, including those for frame & topline, type, and swing & elasticity. In September, Chanel was presented to the Westfalen Verband and also approved for their Main Mare Book with notes that they really liked her conformation and elasticity in her movement and felt that if she was still in Germany she would be a States Premium Candidate.
Chanel will be sold with a breeding to the pony stallion Popeye. It is interesting to note that Piccolino 2 who is competing at DAD in the FEI 6-year old class is out of Die Chanel's dam and is sired by Popeye’s sire, so the cross is already proving itself!
Chanel will make a wonderful show pony or has the quality to be a foundation broodmare for a sport pony breeding program. Chanel has a sweet character and bonds strongly with her people.
