Chestnut, 15.1 hands

A powerful moving, short-coupled filly with a very strong hindquarter, Laurel promises to be an excellent smaller dressage prospect.    Her ½ brother Derby has been one of our favorite horses to start – sensible, willing, uncomplicated to ride even in his early months of training.

Sire Longchamp is by the influential Thoroughbred stallion Lauries Crusador and is out of an Eisenherz/Duden II mare – a perfect combination of refining blood with older, foundation lines.  Longchamp was the Reserve Champion of his Stallion Performance Testing and earned the remarkable 157 points in the dressage phase and competed successfully through Prix. St. Geroges.
                         
Laurel’s dam is by Pointmaker (Pik Bube I-Weltmeister) who scored 122 points in the dressage-phase of his 100-day test and has also competed through Prix St. Georges.   Pastora has been an excellent producer for Summit Sporthorses and we know the performance genetics shine through in her offspring.

Laurel is sound with no vices and gets along well with her pasturemates.  She’s a well-developed two-year old that can easily begin training early next year.  We expect her to mature around 16 hands.
