Second Foal of the Season for Hilltop
Having worked with Virginia Tech for several years we are especially excited about leasing their mare Allegra Q (Anhaltiner-Wertherson), who presented us with a simply stunning Sternlicht colt on April 18th. We would like to say a very special thank you to Dr. Rebecca Splan of the Virginia Tech Foundation for providing us with this amazing opportunity. Jane has decided that the name Santana best fits this amazing colt.
It is with great sadness that Jane MacElree and Hilltop Farm share the news that on Monday, August 23rd Cabana Boy was humanely euthanized following a catastrophic injury while in turnout. Cabana Boy’s well-being, comfort, and quality of life were the focus of each discussion and decision and a team of veterinarians was consulted to discuss all possible options and outcomes.
Any who has endured the loss of a horse can understand the sorrow and despair that descends like a shroud over everyone involved. Any who has witnessed a horse struggle through serious illness can understand how emotional it is to watch horses fight for their lives and how much respect such horses earn amongst their caregivers.

For many Warmblood enthusiasts, just the mention of the famous stallion Riverman is enough to send chills down their spines. The stunning grey Holsteiner, who currently stands at stud at Hilltop Farm in Colora, Maryland, was the Reserve Champion at his stallion licensing, and was a Verband stallion in Germany for the first part of his life.
