The 2009 Fair Hill International 3-day Event was held Oct. 15th through 18th in Fair Hill, MD with many participants, including a few of Hilltop stallions’ offspring. Among these were Kristi Nunnik’s 2001 mare R-Star (Riverman x Marisol) who was bred by Charlotte Wrather and the 1998 Oldenburg gelding Slate River (Riverman x Etoile), bred by Elizabeth Callahan, owned by Allison Freeman, and competed by Heather Morris. Both displayed careful scope and stamina with no jumping penalties in their respective Cross Country rounds, and Slate River went double-clear in Stadium as well. R-Star and Slate River placed 10th and 11th respectively overall in the CCI 3* just 0.2 points apart. Riverman was the only stallion to sire two contestants placing within the top 20 of the 3* that weekend, of those with listed pedigrees.
