About Cabaret

Cabaret was the founding sire of Hilltop Farm. Paired with Scott Hassler early in both their careers, these two developed

together and excelled in a number of different disciplines, beginning with wins at Preliminary level eventing and Open Prelimary Jumpers on the Florida circuit. After a training trip to Germany, Scott and Cabaret conquered the dressage arena. They were consistent FEI competitors, and Cabaret’s final competition season garnered him an impressive four national titles at Grand Prix.

Cabaret was truly the "heart and soul" of Hilltop Farm. His kind nature and extraordinary athleticism was the first attraction for Jane MacElree, owner of Hilltop Farm, years before Hilltop was even conceived.

Cabaret’s scope and movement was clearly visible in his pedigree. The full brother to the international dressage superstar, Corlandus (many time European champion and Silver Medalist in the 1988 Olympics), Cabaret shared his brother's world-class ability for piaffe and passage. Cabaret's sire Cor de la Bryere and his damsire Landgraf together represent two of the most influential jumping lines in the world and the foundation for the Holsteiner breed.

Cabaret's offspring are today successful in all disciplines and like their sire, they truly love to work and have ample talent. Ridden by young riders, amateurs, and professionals alike, they have a keen attitude toward learning and showcase their versatile in many different arenas.
