Contucci
commandingly won the dressage phase of his 100-day test with a score
of 147.11 and six 9’s given throughout the testing. He then
successfully showed in Germany, including winning a 1997
Bundeschampionat (National Breeders' Championships) qualifier with
9.2 out of 10 possible points. Under Hilltop’s ownership, Contucci
developed into an FEI-level horse whose generous nature, willingness
to work, and freedom of movement highlighted his daily work
sessions.
Now is the time for
Contucci’s offspring to shine and continue the legacy of excellence
that their sire and grandsire have demonstrated. In 2005, Contucci
was ranked the #1 Dressage Breeding Sire for the United States
Equestrian Federation for the results of his youngsters at Sport
Horse Breeding shows. He also ranked 7th on the Leading
Sire list for Dressage horses. In 2006, as more of Contucci
offspring started showing, that ranking moved up to #3 for the
production of Dressage horses.
Annual breed
registry inspections showcase Contucci’s influence. Premium and Site
Champion foals, as well as Premium, Site Champion, and winning Mare
Performance Test mares are expected each year from Contucci. He has
produced four approved sons, including Conrad I (Contucci x Renaldo)
who placed 4th at his 2004 Performance Testing and
received a 9 on his jumping. Contucci has also produced three
Reserve Grand Champions of Dressage at Devon: Contigo, Cabana Boy,
and Con Dia. |
