“Tiamo
is an amazing horse. His character and his mental and physical soundness
are nearly unheard of. Not only did he
compete with the world’s best, but he brought me up the levels to grand
prix. Very few horses have the capacity to do that. I’m in awe and in
great debt to this magnificent stallion.” Karin Offield |

Tiamo Trocadero
is truly a special stallion. He has been an International Grand
Prix competitor, a patient schoolmaster, an exceptionally sound
sporthorse who is still in work in his twenties, and is a valuable
source of foundation Hanoverian bloodlines.
Tiamo has easily
made the transition to breeding stallion. He was bred to a
variety of mares in 2007 and had an excellent conception rate.
We look forward to his first foal crop in 2008. |

Tiamo
was licensed by the Hanoverian Verband and completed his stallion
performance test at Munster-Handorf. He did not stand at stud as a
young stallion but was sold to Dr. Wilfried Bechtolsheimer of
England as a competition horse.
Tiamo
spent several years under Emile Faurie, developing to Grand Prix and
campaigning as one of Emile’s international horses. With
performances earning over 70% at top CDI’s, Tiamo demonstrated his
true international quality as a Grand Prix dressage horse. With
Emile, Tiamo was selected as the reserve
horse for Great Britain at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Tiamo later
came under Germany’s Hubertus Schmidt, who furthered his
international career and increased his list of wins to include
Hamburg, Munster-Handorf, and Munich. Tiamo was then sold to Karin
Offield of Offield Farms. He educated Karin through the levels,
teaching her the FEI movements and building her confidence in the
competition arena. Together, they won multiple USDF year-end awards
at the FEI levels. |

Tiamo is by
Trapper, a Celle State Stud stallion known for producing big,
floating trots and very good rideability. His daughters have become
especially noteworthy as excellent producers, often producing
outstanding quality of movement and rideability. Trapper descends
from the Trakhener influence of Trautmann, whose ancestry includes
Aventin xx, sire of Marcio xx, one of the influential improvement
sires who gave the Hanoverian breed such notable stallions as
Matrose and Maat I.
Tiamo’s dam Diana
is by Darling, a respected producer of dressage horses in Germany.
Darling’s well known son Dynasty, ridden by Cindy Ishoy, won the
prestigious Dressage at Devon CDI Grand Prix multiple times and
represented Canada in international competition.
Darling’s sire is
Duft II, the stand-out descendant of Duellant, a famous D-line
stallion who stood from 1946-1965 and who reliably produced good
conformation and movement, with special talent for dressage.
Duellant was by Dolman, one of the original descendants of the
Hanoverian breed’s D-line progenitor, the Thoroughbred stallion
Devil’s Own xx. |

Traumgeist xx,
Tiamo’s granddamsire, stood at the Rantzau breeding station in the
reconstruction period for the Trakehner breed after World War II and
is considered a first-class progenitor of the Trakehner breed. He
had a very balanced, candenced way of going in all three paces and
had an excellent temperament. He provided the Trakehner breed 50
Studbook registered daughters and seven valuable sons. His son
Hirtentraum later became a dressage horse under Germany’s Uwe Sauer,
with top placings at the Hamburg Derby.
Breeders who value
such foundational bloodlines won’t want to miss the opportunity to
access them through Tiamo Trocadero.
“Tiamo exhibits
both the extreme beauty and exquisite gaits which made his father a
legend. His excellent temperament and trainability account for
Tiamo's rise to success in the international Grand Prix ring where
he remained for over a decade as a top competitor.” Robert Dover,
Karin Offield’s Coach & Trainer |
