Onassis is an intelligent, well-developed, and athletic filly that appeals as a competition horse as well as a breeding candidate. Her pedigree is packed with FEI horses and follows the popular practice of combining German and Dutch pedigrees to produce the ideal performance horse. Onassis shows us powerful and well-balanced movement and a keen intelligence and we can hardly wait to see her undersaddle.
Her sire, Royal Prinz, was himself a successful FEI horse including being the Reserve Champion for the USEF Intermediate Championships. His impressive type, beautiful neck, and excellent freedom in the shoulder are just a few of the highlights we see him passing along to his offspring. His pedigree combines the dressage legends of Rubinstein and Donnerhall. One of the oldest Royal Prinz offspring just won the Prix St. Georges Jr/Yr Regional Championships.
On Onassis’s dam’s side, we see further depth of pedigree from dressage royalty like Olympic Ferro and Idocus. Ferro’s profoundly postive influence on not only Dutch breeding but dressage breeding around the world cannot be discounted. FEI dressage genetics are firmly rooted in this pedigree, but we also see strong jumping blood stemming from Holsteiner lines further down the dam’s side. Onassis’s oldest 1/2 brother has earned scores in the 70’s at Training Level and is preparing for his 3rd level debut.
Onassis is living out in a small herd of fillies. She loves attention and regular handling and is agreeable with all her pasture mates. This beautiful filly is registered with the KWPN-NA and is microchipped.
