Famos ESH 2021 Oldenburg gelding by Finery and out of our best producing mare, Wreisentanz! “Frank” is an adorable gelding that is a joy to have on the farm. He is a lovely, athletic mover with three quality gaits. He has been developing very nicely, but growing like a weed and has a lot of filling out to do. His full sibling that is a year older was purchased by Finery’s owner, saying he was the nicest Finery foal they had seen! Check out his maternal half-siblings on our site – Florentanza, Sincere, and Savita – and you will see what a spectacular mount this guy will mature to be. Famos is registered with the OHBS with his passport and lifetime registered USEF. He was a fall born foal and didn’t get a chance to be inspected for a premium award, but we have no doubt his quality would have earned him one. Famos had an eye injury as a foal that was quickly and aggressively treated. He loved the extra attention of his round-the-clock treatments and made a full recovery. There are no concerns for impaired vision in his eye, but there is some faint scarring in his eye. He has been lightly started under saddle, and has been a breeze to start! His people-loving character has him waiting at the gate for his next ride. He is riding quietly walk-trot-canter and hacks out all over the farm. Lexington Lexington (Louisville HTF x Athaena*M*/E.H. Caprimond) is a coming 2-year-old filly that continues to impress with her friendly temperament, natural uphill balance, suspension, and elasticity. Given her breeding and conformation, she has potential to reach advanced levels in dressage. At her Oldenburg N.A. Registry inspection at Meadow Brook Farm in Sycamore, IL, Lexington was designated a Premium Foal, which requires excellent scores in each of 3 categories (conformation and correctness; swing, elasticity and athletic ability of movement; type and overall impression). She also received the High Score award and was named Foal Champion. She has participated as a weanling and as a yearling in the Ellsworth CC Equine Program where she learned showmanship and obstacle skills, patience when tied, desensitization (to polo wraps, lunge whip, spray bottle, towel, rope, grocery sack, wash rack hosing, temperature taking, trailering, and even some commotion), picking up and giving of feet, and standing for grooming and the farrier. She has also been introduced to ground driving, saddle and bridle, and standing quietly while being mounted and dismounted. She continues to improve. Lexington’s sire, Louisville HTF (Lord Leatherdale x Negro), has been making excellent progress through the levels, moving up to the Intermediate I in the fall of 2024, as a 7-year-old. St Patrick Paddy is a talented gelding by Sternlicht, a 3x US Dressage Finals Champion who has competed at the Grand Prix level. Sternlicht (Soliman de Hus x Rascalino) is known for producing rideable and trainable offspring and descends from 8 generations of States Premium mares. His sire, Soliman de Hus, earned nine scores of 9 or higher during his Stallion Performance Test, also competed at the Grand Prix level, and is celebrated for passing on rideability and type. Sternlicht has sired numerous Premium Foals, Inspection Site Champions, and USDF breed show winners. Paddy has three balanced, beautiful gaits and shows strong potential in the hunter ring, having been started over fences. He could also excel in dressage, following in his sire’s footsteps.
