Summer Stoffel and Silver Creek Farms were instrumental in assisting us with making the transition for both Praise and his previous breeders seamless.   We’re looking forward to connecting with all of his past breeders and making him available to new and return breeders alike in 2015.  We’re also pleased to announce that Praise will once again be activated with ISR/Oldenburg, making him an available option for even more breeders. Royal Prince (1999 – 2015)

Royal Prince (1999 – 2015)

Hilltop News Royal Prince (1999 – 2015) Return to All Hilltop News >>>  April 20, 1999 – January 20, 2015  “Good-night, sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.” ~ William Shakespeare It is with a broken heart that we share the news of Royal Prince’s passing this week.  Late in the afternoon of January 20th Royal Prince presented an acute colic and was immediately taken to New Bolton Center.  Unfortunately due to complications discovered during surgery, the only humane choice was to euthanize him. Royal Prince had a significant impact at Hilltop Farm.  In 2004 with Susanne Hassler, he placed fourth at the FEI World Championships for Young Horses – the highest American finish at the Championships to this day.  Royal Prince later helped Michael Bragdell earn his USDF Bronze and Silver Medals and he showed at Prix St. Georges with Chris Hickey.  Royal Prince developed into one of our most prominent stallions including winning the USEF Dressage Breeding Sire of the Year Award for five consecutive years. His offspring have been consistent winners at breed shows and inspections.  To date he has eight Elite Mare/Elite Mare Candidate daughters with the American Hanoverian Society and seven Premium Mares with ISR/Oldenburg. His offspring have earned USDF Horse of the Year titles, Regional Championships, and USDF All-Breeds Awards. Most importantly, Prince was part of our family.  The barn feels a bit empty without him here and while we are grateful for the years we had with him, we can’t help but feel his time here was cut far too short.  For those of you with a Royal...

Hilltop Farm Welcomes a New Assistant Trainer

Hilltop News Hilltop Farm Welcomes a New Assistant Trainer Return to All Hilltop News >>> It’s an official welcome! Hilltop Farm has hired a new Assistant Trainer – Jessica Fay. Originally from Maine, Jessica grew up with horses on her family’s small warmblood breeding farm. Jessica raised, started, and sold a number of young homebreds. As a teen she competed in lower level eventing and show jumping. Jessica originally joined the Hilltop team for a year and a half in 2006 as a working student with Michael Bragdell. It was here that she developed her love of dressage and confirmed her desire to continue starting, training and developing young horses. After completing her Bachelors in Kinesiology at the University of Massachusetts Jessica spent the summer of 2011 working again with Michael and with Chris Hickey. She returned to UMass that fall where she entered the Masters Program in Kinesiology. During this time she continued to train her homebred Oldenburg mare, Veraki (by Riverman) and rode at Brenna Kucinski’s farm. In the summer of 2013 Jessica successfully made her FEI debut aboard Brenna’s wonderful Pan-Am winner Regent. Jessica then had the opportunity to further her training abilities by working as the assistant trainer/barn manager for Grand Prix trainer and competitor, Sharon McCusker. With Sharon’s support Jessica finished her USDF Bronze and Silver Medals aboard her own mare, Veraki, in 2014. Jessica has now completed her Masters Program at UMASS and returns to Hilltop as our new Assistant Trainer. Her passion for young horse education, and her knowledge of kinesiology provide a unique foundation for developing today’s sporthorses. Stallion News Hilltop...
