Contucci has long been one of the stars of the Hilltop Farm stallion line-up. His own early talent was showcased when he commandingly won the dressage phase of his 100-day test with a score of 147.11 and finished as a Class 1 stallion with an overall 127.60. Contucci earned six 9’s throughout the testing for character, willingness to work, rideability, and his trot and canter. He then successfully showed in Germany, including winning a 1997 Bundeschampionat qualifier with 9.2 out of 10 possible points. This elegant, young son of the Trakehner stallion Caprimond was clearly a standout and was chosen as a new headliner for Hilltop Farm in 1998.
Licensed in 2000 in Germany, Don Hill completed his 30-day test at Vechta. In 2003 he qualified for the Bundeschampionat under Anja Rietbrock, who also developed the Hilltop stallion Royal Prince in his early years. Don Hill was then exported to England and successfully competed through Prix St. Georges. In late 2010 Don Hill debuted on the Florida circuit with scores in the high 60s and continues his FEI career with his owner Virginia Leary.
Don Principe is a remarkable FEI competitor who’s already proven his ability to sire top-class offspring. Imported by Maryanna Haymon, Don Principe began his US show career in 2005 with wins at numerous Breed Shows such as the Good Horseman Breeders’ Showcase, Dressage at Lexington, and Dressage at Devon. His scores were consistent in the 80’s and it was not uncommon for Don Principe to earn a score of 9 for his walk. That same season, he also showed very successfully in the FEI 6-year old division under Jim Koford and finished in 4th place overall at the National Championships.

Negro was a brilliant performer living up to the standard set by the sport horses behind him. At his Stallion Performance Test in 1998 he was Reserve Champion overall and was described as an ‘honest, reliable stallion that really likes to go. The walk is big and powerful, his trot has a lot of impulsion, and he has a scopey, powerful canter.” Negro’s canter was awarded an exceptionally high 8.5 and his jumping ability also impressed with no score less than 7.5 for jumping.
Pedigree, performance, and most importantly an incredibly strong record as a sire make Olivi a strong contender for dressage breeders. Olivi’s debut in 1999 resulted in him being named Reserve Champion of the KWPN Stallion Selection
Pikko del Cerro HU won the USEF Six-Year Old, Developing Prix St. Georges, and Developing Grand Prix Championships before embarking on a successful CDI Grand Prix career.
The result of many generations of selective breeding for the ultimate sport pony, Popeye showed his quality early on. He began his competition career in Germany, earning scores as high as 9.0 in materiale classes. At his Stallion Performance Test, Popeye finished fourth overall with an 8.3. His score highlights include a 9 and 9.5 for his walk and a well-deserved 9 for character. Summit Sporthorses presented Popeye to ISR/Oldenburg while he was still in Germany and he received his lifetime approval in 2006. His Stallion Index scores of 227.5 points rank him among the top 20 of all ISR/OldenburgNA stallions (horses & ponies).
Qredit is from the second foal crop of the young sensation Quaterback and was the first Quaterback foal born in the US. Under Christian Flamm, Quaterback was the decisive winner of the 3-year old Bundeschampionat in 2006 earning scores of 9.5 for trot, 10 for canter, 7.5 for walk, 9.5 for conformation, and 9.5 for overall impression. Quaterback then won his 30-day Performance Test with scores of 9 for interior qualities, 9.25 for trot, 9.75 for canter, and 9.75 for rideability.
Occasionally Hilltop Farm imports frozen semen from exceptional sires in Europe to offer to our breeders. We developed a wonderful relationship with Flyinge, the Swedish National Stud, during the time Bugatti was leased to them and we were very excited when the opportunity arose to offer one of their most popular stallions, Quite Easy, to North American breeders. In late 2009 Quie Easy was sold to the prestigious French stud Haras de Brullemail and we are thrilled to be able to continue to offer this exceptional stallion to US breeders.
Riverman was the Reserve Champion of his Holsteiner stallion licensing, where he was titled the “Top Model” of the approvals. Riverman stood as a Verband stallion for three years, producing high percentages of premium offspring. After these foal crops, Riverman stood 2nd in the 2000 German FN’s Jumping Index and 3rd in the Overall Index for stallions of his age group, due to the success of his offspring in both dressage and jumping competition.
Hilltop Farm began looking for a refinement stallion and we were excited to add the Rohdiamant son Royal Prince in our line-up late in 2003. Royal Prince had been approved in the fall of 2001 by the Hanoverian Verband and was a finalist in the 2002 Bundeschampionat. As a 4-year old, Royal Prince was Reserve Champion at his 30-day and 70-day Performance Tests, earning 10’s for his rideability and walk, and 9’s for trot, canter, and willingness to work. He was again was a finalist at the Bundeschampionat that same year.
A legendary pedigree of Rubinstein-Ex Libris-Furioso II, this stallion represents some of the best of the legendary Gestut Vorwerk breeding program. A proven FEI competitor, Rubinero’s outstanding character and rideability make him an easy choice for breeders.
Sternlicht epitomizes the modern sport horse. He was licensed by both the Hanoverian and ISR/Oldenburg registries in 2013, and impressed with his type, movement, and character. His canter is a particular highlight and earned scores of 8 and 8.5 at his licensings.
Winner of the Eastern League Young Jumper Championships, Talisman’s carefulness, scope, and type reflect much of his sire Toulon. Jumper, hunter, and eventing breeders will be interested in considering this charming stallion for their own programs.
