Bugati Max Effrt SFA (Bugatti-Ramses Rasul): We received wonderful news from breeder Deb Thomas of Sanford Farms in CT. Deb shared that 2-Year Old Bugatti gelding Bugati Max Effrt SFA (Bugatti x Desert Aurora/Ramses Rasul) was named National Reserve Champion 2-Year Old Half Arabian Gelding at the 2017 AHA National Sport Horse Show. Congratulations to all of “Max’s” connects! >>>

VADA/NOVA Fall Dressage Show: It was a beautiful weekend in Virginia for the VADA/NOVA Fall Show. Michael took Kaja Brix’s Feuerbach out for a warm-up before Regionals. They won both their Intermediate I tests with a 66.9% and a 69.7%. >>>

2017 AHS/ARS Inspection: We had a fantastic inspection this past week with an overwhelming super quality in the foals. The event started however with two stallions being accepted for AHS/ARS. >>>

Bugatti Foal Announcements: 07-06-16: Congratulations to Barb Crabbe of Beaver Creek, OR on the arrival of her new Bugatti foal! Born to her mare Bacall on June 16th, Barb says her new baby is healthy and strong and looks like the twin to her full two year old sister Beyonce. Welcome to the world little one! >>>

Beaucoup d’Amis (Bugatti-Contucci): Breeder Trisha DeRosa recently wrote to share a few highlights of the 2016 show season for her Bugatti mare Beaucoup d'Amis (Bugatti x Carousel/Contucci). Beaucoup d’ Amis had such a spectacular year and Trisha’s thoughtful note about her mare so nice not to share. >>>

USEF Sire Rankings: The United States Equestrian Federation compiles annual Sire Rankings based on competition results of recorded offspring. With the results finalized the end of December, we’re excited to share the achievements for the current, and a few former, stallions at Hilltop Farm. >>>

Dressage At Devon: All of us here at Team Hilltop enjoyed another successful year at Dressage at Devon 2016. With the help of King Santacruz, Quinnten and Michael presented a number of Hilltop-sired or client-owned horses to top placings over the course of the week. Despite the usual small bit of rainy weather, we were happy to catch up with clients, friends, and even welcome a few new faces into the Hilltop barns. >>>

ISR/OldenburgNA Inspection: Our annual ISR/OldenburgNA Inspection was held August 12-13th and we saw a large, diverse group of good quality horses over the two days. Five stallions were licensed. >>>

AHS/ARS Inspection: We were happy to welcome back the judges from the American Hanoverian Society/American Rhineland Studbook on July 23-24. >>>

VADA/NOVA Breed Show: Quinnten Alston handled a number of horses for the VADA/NOVA Breed Show at Morven Park on June 10th. Iris Aberbach's Jamaica A (Ampère-Bugatti) was a superstar for her first time off farm, winning her Two-Year Old Fillies class and then going on to be named Filly Champion, Young Horse Champion, and Overall Grand Champion! >>>

Bravo (Bugatti x Guguins Idea/Gaugin de Lully): Macie Millstein and her own Bravo (Bugatti x Guguins Idea/Gaugin de Lully) are off to a wonderful start this show season. A fairly new partnership, Bravo and Macie have been paired together a little under a year. This season they’ve been showing in the 1.00m jumpers and USHJA 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal 17 & Under Classes. >>>

USDF Year-End Awards for Hilltop Training Horses: With the finalization of the USDF Year-End Awards, we’d like to congratulate the owners and breeders on the successes of their horses in training here at Hilltop Farm. Congratulations as well to Michael Bragdell and Jessica Fay; our Hilltop trainers had a wonderful 2015 show season. >>>

Bugatti Offspring Earn USDF Awards in 2015: With the USDF and All-Breeds Awards rankings finalized, it’s safe to say that 2015 proved to be another great show season for the Bugatti offspring. This year we saw Bugatti offspring earning top placings as in-hand horses all the way through the FEI levels. >>>

USDF Region 1 Championships: It’s been a fantastic show season here at Hilltop Farm and everyone has been looking forward to the USDF Region 1 Championships in Lexington, VA. The temperatures were brisk (to say the least), but the sunny sky and fall foliage made for beautiful horse show weather. >>>

American Hanoverian Society Inspection: Hilltop Farm was proud to host the American Hanoverian Society Inspection on July 19-20. Judges were Meg Williams, Jürgen Rump, and George Walker. >>>

Dressage at the Park Breed Show: There was a new breed show offered on the 4th of July weekend at the New Jersey Horse Park and we were happy to take part. While it was a smaller show, we hope it will continue to grow as we need more shows for youngsters offered in this region. >>>

July Blue Goose Dressage Show: We started off the month with the Blue Goose Dressage Show on July 1st. Jessica Fay took our homebred Cha Ching HTF (Cordoba-Weltmeyer) for another outing at Training Level and was well rewarded with a score of 74.9% and a 9 on gaits. >>>

Beaujolais 75 (Bugatti x Conflora/Contucci): Emily Donaldson and Beaujolais 75 are off to a wonderful start for the 2015 show season. Beaujolais 75 competed in his first recognized Horse Trial on May 9th at Plantation Fields. >>>

VADA/NOVA Summer Dressage Show: Just as the breed show horses were headed home, Michael arrived with two of his riding horses to continue the show weekend at Morven Park on June 5-7. Iris Aberbach's Boxster A (Bugatti-Weltbekannt) continues to show top form in his work. >>>

VADA/NOVA Breed Show: We took three young horses from Hilltop down to Morven Park this week for one of our favorite breed shows each year. The show management always does an excellent job managing this event and it's a relatively close drive for us. >>>

USEF Leading Sire Rankings: Each year we look forward to the release of the finalized USEF Leading Sire Rankings. It is an excellent resource for US stallion owners, breeders, riders, and trainers alike. >>>

Baccarat (Bugatti-Cor Noir): Congratulations to owner Deborah McGlynn and breeder Crossen Arabians on Baccarat’s wonderful 2014 show season! Baccarat and rider Sarah Barge were the Zone 2 Horse of The Year for 3’ Pre-Green Hunter. >>>

2014 AHS Futurity Results: The 2014 AHS National Futurity results are posted and we’re very excited to see multiple Hilltop Farm offspring in the Top-Ten of both divisions. Yearling filly Releve HTF (Royal Prince-Cordoba), bred and owned by Hilltop Farm, took top honors in the Yearling Futurity with a score of 78.5. >>>

Bugatti Offspring Win USDF Awards: It’s so fun to see Bugatti offspring earning USDF Year End Awards undersaddle and in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding (DSHB) this year. Two year old filly, Briljant G (Bugatti-Babar) earned an 11th place ranking in the USDF DSHB 2-Year Old Fillies. >>>

Hilltop-Sired Offspring at USDF Nationals: Congratulations to all the owners, riders, and breeders whose horses qualified for the USDF National Finals. In its second year at the Kentucky Horse Park the show has a true Championship feel to it and draws competitors from across the entire country. >>>

Bugatti Offspring at USDF Regional Championships: Bugatti was well represented with offspring earning top placings at three different USDF Regional Championships. The Hilltop-bred, Marchella Richardson owned, and Debbie Hill ridden gelding Boccaccio IOF (Bugatti-Rubinstein) was a highlight earning both a reserve and championship finish at the USDF Region 2 Championships. >>>

USDF National Finals: Team Hilltop headed to the US Dressage Finals at the Kentucky Horse Park for the first week in November. We were very excited for Michael to be able to compete for the first time as a US Citizen at a US Championship and to have qualified three horses for the finals. >>>

USDF Year-End Awards for Hilltop Trainers & Horses: As the 2014 show season draws to a close, the USDF Year End Awards have been finalized. Both Michael Bragdell and Quinnten Alston have had a fantastic year with Hilltop and client owned horses alike. >>>

CBLM Championships & VADA Fall Show: This weekend Michael Bragdell headed down to the CBLM Championships & VADA Fall Show in Lexington, VA. Balissa HTF (Bugatti-Contucci) tied for 1st in her Third Level Test 1 on Friday with a 66.184% and improved her score in Saturday's Third Level Championship with a 67%. >>>

Bugatti Offspring Show at Devon: Bugatti was well represented by offspring showing in-hand and undersaddle during Dressage at Devon. Beaujolais 75 (Bugatti-Contucci) was ridden by owner Emily Donaldson to a 4th place finish in the Suitable to Become a Dressage Horse 5-Years Old. >>>

Dressage at Devon Breed Show: Devon is one of our favorite shows and we always look forward to catching up with other breeders, owners, and friends at this historic show. A large group of horses joined us from Hilltop’s Raising Department and Devon Prep Program making this year’s Devon especially busy for Team Hilltop. >>>

VADA/Nova Autumn Dressage: Team Hilltop started off the fall show season with VADA/ Nova’s Autumn Dressage at Morven Park on September 13th and 14th. Michael Bragdell rode Iris Aberbach’s Bugatti gelding, Boxster A. >>>

Dressage at Stone Tavern: On August 31st, Team Hilltop traveled to the Horse Park of New Jersey in Allentown to compete in the Dressage at Stone Tavern Breed Show. Beth Custalow’s lovely yearling Bugatti filly, Bugatti’s Ballerina, placed third in both her age group and her Hanoverian breed class. >>>

Benediction (Bugatti x Heartbreak Hill xx): Marina McCoy’s Bugatti Colt Benediction was named both a Premium Foal and High Point Foal of his ISR/Oldenburg inspection. Congratulations Marina! >>>

Maplewood Breed Show I & II: Hilltop handler Quinnten Alston headed up this week for the Maplewood Breed Shows in New York. Hilltop’s Denver HTF (Donarweiss-Royal Prince) was 3rd in his class the first show, but improved on the second show to place 2nd. >>>

AHS Inspection at Hilltop Farm: July 20-21st Hilltop Farm was pleased to host the American Hanoverian Society Inspection & Futurity. Dr. Ludwig Christmann, Volker Ehlers, and Suzanne Quarles made an excellent judging panel and their evaluations of each horse proved extremely valuable to the audience and owners. >>>

Blue Goose Schooling Show: On July 15th, Michael Bragdell took one of the youngsters for their first outing. Jennifer Weigold’s Benedetta (Bugatti-Hailo) took it all in stride and earned a 68% in Training Level Test 1 for 2nd place. >>>

Brio HSF: Brio HSF (Bugatti – Grandseigner) - Brio and Diane Carlson are off to a great start this show season. The NCDCTA Summer Highland Fling Dressage was only their second outing this summer and the pair earned an 82% at Training Level Test 3. Brio is owned by his breeder Barbara Ritz of North Carolina. >>>

Brigadoon: Brigadoon (Bugatti – Art Deco) – Congratulations to owner/breeder Sheila O’Keefe on Brigadoon qualifying for USDF Regional Championships after just two outings at Prix St. Georges. Brigadoon and Julio Mendoza Loor most recently showed at Dressage at Blue Goose taking home blue ribbon at Prix St. George. We’ve enjoyed watching Brigadoon develop from a young horse up to his FEI debut. Can’t wait to see what’s ahead for this pair! >>>

Dressage at Lexington Breed Show: The Lexington Breed Show was a fun outing for Team Hilltop. Our handler, Quinnten Alston, took two youngsters from the farm down for the show. Both Relevè HTF (Royal Prince-Cordoba) and Quinzy HTF (Qredit-Cordoba) placed 2nd in their respective age divisions. Quinzy was 3rd in the Filly Championship and Relevè was 5th in the AHS IBC. >>>

July 2nd Blue Goose Dressage: Just before the holiday Michael Bragdell squeezed in one more show at our favorite local show grounds – Blue Goose Dressage. It was a busy day with 4 horses and temperatures in the 90's but it was just the outing each needed. Starting the morning with Kaja Brix’s Feuerbach, Michael earned the needed qualifying score for Regionals and was 2nd in Third 3 with a 65.5%. >>>

PVDA Ride for Life: Michael Bragdell captured six wins in six classes at last weekend’s PVDA Ride for Life show. Qredit only competed in one test, but made it a winning one with a score of 67.76% in Saturday’s Third Level Test 1. Iris Aberbach’s Bugatti gelding, Boxster A, captured wins in Fourth Level Tests 1 & 2 with scores over 70% each day. >>>

VADA/NOVA Breed Show: Congratulations Quinnten Alston on a wonderful first show as Hilltop's Handler! The VADA/NOVA Breed Show at Morven Park today was our first in-hand show of the year and the horses all came home with strong placings. >>>

Blue Goose Dressage Show: On May 14th, Michael took Iris Aberbach’s 10-year old Bugatti gelding Boxster A for his second outing at Prix St. Georges. The pair had a great test, winning the class with a 68.684% and receiving 8’s for their half pass work. Judge Lisa Schmidt commented that she found Boxster A an “elegant horse” with his “trot work the highlight of the test”. Congratulations to all. >>>

CDCTA Dressage at Morven Park: On the weekend of May 3rd & 4th, Hilltop’s trainer Michael Bragdell once again made the drive to Morven Park. Only taking two horses with him, it turned into a very special weekend. First up was Iris Aberbach’s wonderful Bugatti gelding, Boxster A. Michael’s been developing Boxster since he came to him for starting. Saturday’s Fourth 3 test was steady and harmonious and won the class with a 69.875%. On Sunday, Boxster competed in his first Prix St. Georges test – those of you who’ve developed horses up the levels know how emotionally rewarding it is to see them take those first steps as an “FEI horse.” >>>

Great Start to the Season at Morven Park: Michael Bragdell kicked off Hilltop's show season with a fantastic weekend at Morven Park. The show by the numbers: three horses, six classes, five firsts (one second), and two High-Score awards. Ownerer/breeder Iris Aberbach had cause to celebrate when Boxster A handily won both his Fourth Level Tests including 73.6% in Sunday’s Fourth 2. Morven Park was Qredit Hilltop’s first outing since last year’s USEF Young Horse Championships in August. >>>

Hilltop Stallions Lead USEF Sire Rankings: Another cornerstone in the Hilltop Farm line-up, Contucci (Caprimond – Lungau) also earned multiple top-25 finishes. Contucci finished the year ranked 21st in the Hunter Sire rankings, 6th in Eventing Sire rankings, 23rd in Dressage Breeding Sire rankings and last but not least 5th in Dressage Sire rankings. >>>

Bugatti – 2013 USDF and All-Breeds Awards: The USDF and All-Breeds Awards standing have been finalized and we are thrilled to see so many offspring of Hilltop Farm stallions out and competing.
