Donarweiss News Donatella CF (Donarweiss – Tantris) View All Donarweiss News >>> We received exciting news on Donarweiss mare Donatella CF (Donarweiss x Tiadora/Tantris).  Six-year old Donatella competed in her first Prix St. Georges test at Dunmovin’ Farm, under owner/breeder Kim Callaway.  In a large class, the pair earned a 2nd place finish.  We’ve enjoyed following Donatella’s success at breed shows as a young horse and it’s especially fun seeing that success continue under saddle. Way to go Kim and Donatella! Donarweiss News By Chance Dressage I & II: Despite a dismal weather forecast, Jessica Fay and Natalie Wolfer headed off to another horse show this weekend. Donarweiss News Dax (Donarweiss – Ideal) View All Donarweiss News >>> Val Zeek’s handsome Donarweiss colt Dax (Donarweiss x Ivy/Ideal) was named Champion Colt at the Echo Glen Farm’s ISR/Oldenburg inspection.  Dax impressed the judges earning an overall score of 8.1, with the highlight being a score of 8.2 for movement.  The cross of Donarweiss and Ivy has been very successful, with Dragon Fly named Highest Score Foal in the country in 2009 and 2011 filly, Dahlia, named a Premium Mare and 2nd place High Score Mare on the West Coast with ISR/Oldenburg.  We’re excited to see another Donarweiss-Ivy offspring earning such high praise at his inspection.  Congratulations Val! Hilltop News Dressage at Devon Breed Show Return to All Hilltop News >>> Devon is one of our favorite shows and we always look forward to catching up with other breeders, owners, and friends at this historic show.  A large group of horses joined us from Hilltop’s Raising Department and Devon Prep Program making this year’s Devon especially busy for Team Hilltop.  Assisting Hilltop Handlers Quinnten Alston and Michael Bragdell was King Santacruz.  We were thrilled to welcome King back to Hilltop for the third consecutive year and can’t thank him enough for his extra assistance over the week.  His superb handling skills compliment Quinnten and Michael’s style so well. Tuesday’s warm sunny weather made for an excellent start to the show on Young Horse Day. Virginia Leary’s Don Hill gelding Don de Lion (Don Hill-Hawthorne) and Quinnten Alston kicked off the start of the show for Team Hilltop in the Yearling Colts and Geldings class with a 7th place finish. Don de Lion is from Don Hill’s first US foal crop; we’re enjoying seeing the early Don Hill foal crops out showing.  Following suit in the Dixon Oval in the 2-Year Old Colts and Gelding’s class Michael Bragdell handled Marydell Farm’s colt David Bowie MF (Don Principe-Rotspon) to a 3rd place finish.  Cha Ching HTF (Contucci-Cordoba) ended his Devon in-hand career with a 4th in the 3-Year Old Colts and Geldings and a win in the USDF/GAIG Colts and Gelding Final later in the day under Michael’s guidance. Donarweiss News MG-Dynasty (Donarweiss-Winterprinz) View All Donarweiss News >>> Congratulations to breeder Anne-Marie Gagnon and owner Marie-Pier De Villers on MG-Dynasty excellent inspection results.  Dynasty earned an overall score of 8.2 at his ISR/Oldenburg inspection in Canada.  His movement score was a highlight, earning a score of 8.4. In 2013, full sibling MG-Dom Perignon also earned Premium status and was named the top colt of his inspection. Donarweiss News Dylan HTF (Donarweiss – Riverman) View All Donarweiss News >>> Owner and rider Christine Duke is having a wonderful year competing on the Hilltop-bred gelding Dylan HTF.  Christine purchased Dylan as a young horse and is competing at Beginner Novice level this year.  The pair held the lead through all three phases to win the Beginner Novice Horse division at Hunters Run Horse Trials last weekend.  Christine plans to compete Dylan in the Area Championships at the end of August and the American Eventing Championships this fall. Dahlia (Donarweiss – Ideal)

Donarweiss News Dahlia (Donarweiss – Ideal) View All Donarweiss News >>> Donarweiss has another Premium Mare to his credit.  Three year old filly, Dahlia (Donarweiss x Ivy/Ideal) attended an ISR/Oldenburg inspection for her mare inspection.  Dahlia was the only Premium Mare of the day and earned a score of 105pts.  Owner and breeder, Val Zeek, couldn’t be happier with Dahlia’s performance and now looks forward to Dahlia being started undersaddle.
