Current Full-Time Employment Opportunities

DRESSAGE SHOW GROOM

Want to groom some of the top horses in the country, travel to premiere USDF/USEF dressage shows, and enjoy a five-day work week? Hilltop Farm is looking for an experienced dressage groom to be based out of Colora, MD with potential to travel to FL a few months during the winter. Duties include grooming/tacking for approximately eight competition horses with regular travel to out-of-state shows. Position includes limited stall cleaning each morning before grooming duties begin.

Ideal applicant should be experienced with show grooming, detail-orientated, possess solid horse care skills including wrapping, clipping, and braiding, and be comfortable handling a variety of horses from Training to Grand Prix. Hilltop offers a fun and fast-paced team environment with a competitive compensation package including: 

  • On-site housing with standard utilities available if desired
  • 5 day work week
  • Paid vacation/sick days and holidays
  • Health insurance/401K (after respective probationary periods)
  • Discounted horse board/lessons
  • Weekly staff lesson (with own horse)
  • Starting salary of $24,800

Broodmare/Foal Groom

Enjoy working with foals and seeing them develop? Here’s your chance to be a part of a top sporthorse farm that foals out approximately 15 broodmares each year. Primary duties include feeding, turnout, grooming, general handling, stall mucking, and barn cleaning. Potential to assist during breed inspections and various hosted events. Ideal applicant should have solid horse handling skills, be able to lift 50lbs regularly, have a valid driver’s license, and enjoy a fast-paced, team environment.

Competitive compensation package includes:

  • On-site housing with standard utilities available if desired
  • 5 day work week
  • Paid vacation/sick days and holidays
  • Health insurance/401K (after respective probationary periods)
  • Discounted horse board/lessons
  • Weekly staff lesson (with own horse)
  • Starting salary of $22,650

GROUNDS/MAINTENANCE WORKER

Looking for an opportunity to work outside full-time with consistent, year-round hours? Here’s your chance to work at a scenic 400-acre horse farm and enjoy the fresh air and country views everyday. The grounds/maintenance worker’s duties include general farm maintenance, mowing, weed whacking, moving hay/straw, and stall mucking. Ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, enjoy a physically challenging position with the ability to regularly lift 50+ lbs., and have experience working around large animals.  Applicants will be working as part of a grounds/maintenance team of 2-3 other staff and should enjoy working both independently and in a team environment. Anticipated work week is Monday – Friday, 6 am – 4 pm.

Competitive compensation package includes:

  • Health Insurance & 401K (after respective probationary periods)
  • Salary of $28,000
