2007 Hanoverian Mare, 17.2 hands
Bugatti – Contucci
A Hilltop homebred, Balissa HTF is just starting what we expect to be an exciting dressage career. Balissa had a successful breed show start as a youngster including being the Reserve Champion at the Fair Hill Breed Show, placing 4th in the USDF East Coast Filly Final, and finishing the season as Reserve Champion USDF DSHB 2-year old Filly in 2009.
In the summer of her three year old year, she showed lightly in Materiale classes with the impressive average of 82.8%. She was named an Elite Mare Candidate with the American Hanoverian Society scoring and had the highest-scoring Mare Performance Test of the inspection.
Balissa has been a consistent winner at every level shown and is one of Chris’s favorite horses to compete given her steady, reliable nature even as a very young horse.
A few of this pair’s competition highlights include:
- 2011 Dressage at Devon – 2nd & 4th in the USEF FEI 4-year old tests
- 2011 American Hanoverian Society Champion USEF FEI 4-year olds
- 2012 Florida Season – Multiple High-Score Awards at First Level
- 2012 USDF Horse of the Year ~ 2nd First Level
- 2012 USDF All-Breeds Awards ~ AHS 1st First Level
Hilltop looks forward to developing Balissa over the years and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this promising mare.
“This horse is one of Jane's special favorites! She worked her way into our hearts very quickly. She’s got an amazing work ethic and loves to please. I just love being able to go out and show our Hilltop-bred horses that are by our stallions. At times I can close my eyes and almost feel Bugatti under me!”
